How to nest a mullion array family into a window sash

I found a thread about this a while back on another site but could not find an explanation, just the images I will attach. The images show what I want to be able to do, but basically I want to be able to type in a number and get that amount of mullions onto a window. I'm pretty sure there is a way since the person who posted the images was able to do it. If someone knows how to do this, please help.

I'd do it by making a family (workplane hosted) of the mulien, then nesting that into another family where I arrayed it. It would need controls to not break when the count is set to 0 or 1. I would then nest that family into the window pane family, or into the window family, depending on how I was building the family.

Create the mullion, array it, put a type parameter on the count and nest it into the window family. Once in the window family, add the count parameter from the mullion to the window family through type properties.

Check these out. I created them 2 years ago but should do what you are asking. Let me know if you have any question.

I created the sash and mullion separately and nested them into there own file. This allows you to join them and get rid of lines / have the glass or mullion be cut.

jmk's work flow perfectaly discribs how I made these.
