how to make like picking up inside lines not picking the lines only ?

Hi every one all of us know that sometimes you have just 2d lines and you want to make it from lines into component with thickness (example if i have iron stair i have like just single 2d from cad how in seconds by magic tools in revit an component ) for more clarifitcation for those used before arhicad in archicad i am using magic wand using wall tool to make the lines double and with thickness then i save it as a component in revit how

second : how i can pick what is inside the lines and make it extruded not the lines it self (for autocad users before press and pull) ( parallel idea of magic wand in archicad) if this feature is available that will be awesome

my question is very important to create complex shapes that take plenty of times like the one on the image i made it using archicad and the magic wand saved me many times so that is the purpose also adding to it converting 2d lines into offset line and object at the same moment

What you can do here is this:

    1. Open a new Family based on the Wall Based (or Face Based) Generic Model.
    2. Import the 2d Autocad file and place it on the face
    3. Create a void using the outline of the 2d cad file. Use the Select Line tool with tab key to select a complete chain of lines at once.
    4. Create the geometry by creating a solid extrusion. Use the Select Line tool with tab key to select quickly.

    Finished.

the 2d file is fence gate it does not want to be exploded in revit so what is the reason i tried partial explode and full explode i hided all the layers not needed in the drawing to hide the rest of blocks and minimize the number of drawing lines

so what i am supposing to do to make this 2d lines or in other meaning how i am able to editing them Required: fence to be extruded and become gate fence as in the image
the revit now read it as it group

DO NOT EXPLODE!! This will absolutely kill model performance.
What I meant is use the dwg as underlay. When you open a Face based Generic Model Family you can import the dwg as underlay and use it to REDRAW the extrusion boundary.

Can you post the dwg? More easy to show how it's done...

The sooner you stop looking for tools from archicad and cad, and start reading on how revit was INTENDED to work, the easier its going to be for you....

yes mdradvies sorry for being late here is dwg that i want to convert it in revit easily to 3d (noting that there is many curves and lines ) it is typical 2d for the 3d beside it

by the way one further related question what if i have 2d lines only and i want to make it 3d as in the last two images example
