    Revit 2012 error message

I wasn't sure where else to ask this question, but I just downloaded Revit 2012, and anytime I try to draw anything it tells me "An error has occurred while drawing the contents of this window. This window shall be closed." I've looked everywhere to see if anyone else is having this problem, but it doesn't seem like anyone is. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it!

Hi Daisy, and welcome to the forum. Not sure what´s going on, but could you provide us with specs. on your hardware and OS? (Either your computer is really old, or you need to re-install)

I have an Asus, and I bought in March 2010. I have Windows 7 and a nvidia geforce g210m graphics card. This is the second time I've installed it, and it's still doing it. I had problems with 2011 as well because of my graphics card, so I'm wondering if it's possibly the same issue. I hope it isn't because I don't want to buy (another) new laptop!

Did you try to turn off hardware acceleration?

I didn't know you had to have add in for Revit. I've never had to have them before.

How do you turn off the hardware acceleration? I'm not even sure what that is. :-\

You don't have to have any add-ins. Sometimes they may cause the problems when installed.

Click on big R (upper left corner) -> Options and you will get dialog box (see pix). Uncheck 'Graphics Mode'.

With every upgrade of Revit always ensure you have the latest video card drivers installed. This will generally resolve these types of issues. If not, you may need to disable hardware acceleration as outlined above. If you still have issues you may need to disable hardware acceleration for the entire application or the system in the windows settings. Let me know if you still have issues and require guidance on how to do this.

I disabled the hardware acceleration, but I'm still getting the same error message. Sigh.

Bump. If anyone has any other ideas or can explain to me how to disable the hardware on the entire app then I'd appreciate it.
