    Navisworks | Editable Shortcuts?

    Is it possible to edit shortcuts to keystrokes or similar in Navis? Specifically what I'm trying to do is preset a Transparency Override to operate much like the keyboard shortcut for Hide (Ctrl+H). It'd be nice to preset 60% transparency as a F-key or keystroke combo. For instance, if I could set Ctrl+Q to set the transparency of the selected object(s) to 60% transparency, this would reduce the right-click > Override Item > Override Transparency > {Set Value} > Click Okay to a workflow that is at the "speed of conversation".

    Any ideas? Thanks!!

    You can modify the RoamerCommands (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2016\Layout) - best I could do was get the Override Transparency window to pop up with the Ctrl+Q shortcut.

    You'll need to remove the line <Command ID="RoamerGUI_EDIT_OVERRIDE_TRANSPARENCY" />

    and add the following - I added it below the <Command ID="RoamerGUI_MODE_SELECT_BOX"> command.

    <Command ID="RoamerGUI_EDIT_OVERRIDE_TRANSPARENCY">
    <Shortcut>Ctrl+Q</Shortcut>
    <Toggle>true</Toggle>
    <Accelerator>Q</Accelerator>
    </Command>

    See the attached screenshot

    ALSO - Make sure you save an unedited version of your RoamerCommands as Navisworks will NOT open if you mess up the syntax.

      VERY good tip Mason. Although not entirely complete for my own standards, this still slices through the right-click middle man scenario and brings up the slider bar immediately, which is an alternative I'm okay with.

      Many thanks on this. If we ever cross paths with some mutual friends, I'll buy you a beer on this one.

        For the record, I didn't move it up to the top of the list. I kept it in the same line it was currently in and everything works just fine. Is there a reason you moved <Command ID="RoamerGUI_EDIT_OVERRIDE_TRANSPARENCY"> up to the top?

          Just to separate the commands that have keyboard shortcuts from those that do not.

          Not really necessary - just preference.

              That was a good tip. I need a small help from you.
              I have created a button using API, but i don't know how to add shortcut for the button.

              can you help me on creating a shortcut for my customized button??

              Thanks!
