    Room Parameter Management Question

    Hello All,
I currently maintain several dozen predefined room names in a color scheme within my template. I have a need to have additional parameters with predefined values assigned to these rooms when they get placed, and not have to fat finger the values on the fly (Room Abbreviation for example). I really want to avoid the method where you pre-place all of your rooms in a special phase so that you can pre-enter the values, and then hide it all away. Would the Ideate BIM Link (or equivalent software) be a potential solution for something like this, making it possible to maintain external room lists with additional predetermined parameters that could later be pushed into the project to append/update your room data? Is the a simpler/cleaner way to do what I am asking for?
    Thanks!

Just make the rooms in phase 1, populate the data, then delete the rooms. They will stay in the template as *unplaced* rooms. Then teach folks to place those instead of always placing new rooms.

You can make a room schedule, add data rows, and populate the data. Then, as Aaron mentioned you can pick those rooms instead of a new one when placing in the model.

I do it as groups, then delete them. Insert the group and all your stuff is there. Also works great on typical ADA restroom layouts and kitchens.
