Lighting Family Not Registering for Rendering

I have a light fixture family that doesn't seem to want to render. The family type and parameters is set to be a light fixture, it has a light source and it will schedule as a light fixture. However, when I attempt to render with only the artificial light sources, the rendering progress dialogue box lists the artificial light count as 0. I've checked the lighting dialogues and made sure the lights are turned on. I checked just about every setting i could think of. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Josh

    Are you using IES Files?
What version of Revit are you using?
If you are using Revit 2016 with the Autodesk Raytracer I dont believe IES files are supported: either cloud render or use the Nvidea Mental Ray engine

Are you using the cloud to render? I found that with cloud rendering (haven't investigated local rendering) that lights wouldn't render if I had the view template applied. Taking it off worked fine. Also look at the light family itself - double check that the light isn't behind a solid model element.

The light fixture must have been using IES files. Revit 2017 wasn't picking up the lights, but when I rendered it in the cloud, the correct lighting levels showed up.

IES files work in 2017 - maybe you had them in a lighting group turned off..

all the groups were turned on and all the lights were turned on. When the rendering would start and the dialogue box tells you the number of artificial lights that were being calculated, it would read as 0. It renders fine in the cloud but not locally.

odd - when that happens to me it's normally because I forgot to include artificial lights in the Lighting scheme
