    Revit MEP- question

why is it that with one model that i bring into a project it has darker lines and looks like the lines are solid, but some other models have very thin lines looking as if the model is hidden?? any ideas? i do know though that it doesnt have anything to do with the coarse medium or fine tabs... please help!

Are you talking about (TL) Thin lines?

No, not TL. Because i tryed that ad for some reason the ones that were dark and thick lines turn into thin lines but are still darker then the rest of the models. the rest of the models look almost as if they are hidden, and not as realistic as the dark lines are. do you think it might have something to do with the line weights? if so, how could i change it so that all the models look the same?

Can you post an image of the 2? If I can see what it looks like I probably be able to tell you.

When you say lines are you talking about actual detail lines or the lines representing system families and families?
When you say hidden are you talking about the actual hidden linetype or just lighter in hue?

Lineweights are global unless overriden in VG.
        things to look for:
Your disciplines vary between the views (1 mechanical the other Coordination).
The Lines category in VG is set to halfone in one view.
        Filters?

i tryed uploading a screen shot that shows the difference perfectly, but the website will not let me upload it... if its ok with you, send me your email address. I more then likely should be able to send it through there.

JaredM, when u hit the post image icon a semi white blank tinted screen comes up over the screen.
1.) Hit escape one and u should get to the Revit Forum's post prompt which will let u post up images.
or 2.) Double Click the image post icon again and again.
Finally, 3.) If you're using Internet Explorer like me, make sure the "show all content" prompt on the bottom u hit it and then the page reloads, try the image prompt button again and should work.
            Weird but it works.

If you're having trouble with the post image interface select the "From my computer" tab to be able to select files from your computer to post up.

            Hope this helps.

I need more information about your model.
Are the lighter Air handlers a linked RVT file?
                  Are you using filters?
Are the lighter AH's on a different category other than Mechanical?
Is there a line weight override for the categories or elements?
                  Are the AH's cad files?
Your view is set to hidden but the 2 AH's are wireframe which means that there has to be an override for those 2 unless they are on a different category.
What is the discipline for the view?
Look in object styles for the category and their respective lineweights, than look in VG to see if the same category has an override. Than right click on the families and see if it has been overriden. See if there is a filter.

It looks to me like the lighter AH's are either linked or on a different category.

1.) Either your V/G filter for the system that has those 2 HVAC components' patterns/line weight has been changed.
2.) Or you set all the other HVAC components to transparent.

Can't think of anything else at the moment...
