EDIT Demo video at post #10
I have been using StrokeIt for quite a few years now and wrote a Auto Hotkey script to run in cojunction with it, to speed up the process of moving around the desktop and working through menus.
For those who don't know StrokeIT is a mouse gesture program that links mouse strokes to hotkeys,( hold down RIGHT mouse button and make a gesture (strroke) to activate a shortcut.
I have gone one step further and associated mouse strokes (Right button) that activate menus at the curser. These menu's I have ordered to suit myself but if you are keen I have supplied the autohotkey script that you can recompile to suit yourself.
Once you get use to the mouse gestures and location of menus and menu items you will find you it a very quick user interface to use.
Everything you need is in .zip file but you will have to download StrokeIt (free) from
and if you want to do some script writting download Autohotkey (free) from
--------------------------------
Instructions (copy inside zip file)
1. install strokit (free)
download from http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/
2. double click on "REVIT 2011 Export.SXP" to import
revit settings into strokeit
3. open strokeit and Revit, then see "Strokeit setup.pdf" to see how to
associate strokeit to revit
4. Either merge "MB Revit KeyboardShortcuts" into your existing revit shortcuts
or I would backup your existing shortcuts file and then just overwrite with mine.
So you can replace if need be.
5. copy "MB speedyui 3.3" (green icon with H on it) too..I usually place on desktop.
Thats it
Start Revit,
Start strokeit (if not already running with windows startup)
and double-click on "MB speedyui 3.3"script
In revit hold down RIGHT mouse button and make gesture (stroke)
as in "Menu Stroke" PDF to get menus at cursor.
Takes a little getting use to but once you do it's very quick.
Hope you like it
