    Macros

Does anyone have a general idea as to how Macros work in Revit?

Step 1, go to the manage tab.
    Step 2, click Macro Manager
Step 3, if you already have macros installed they appear

Macros aren't really a video-tutorial kind of thing, as they are code - so you've quite a fair bit of reading to do. But you can't go wrong starting here: https://boostyourbim.wordpress.com/

Arch Smarter has a decent set of macros and how-to material as well. Arch Smarter - Helping architects and designers work smarter, not harder.

Isn't the BYB blog more of an API coding source whereas macros are a different type of coding? I'm asking as I'm curious, not to be snotty. And, I'm also interested in macros in Revit but not API coding.

He covers a lot of both. Macros can be written in VB.Net, C#, Ruby and Python. If you are writing your macros in C# they can be converted to stand alone addins without too much additional work (as I understand it, I am not a coder )

There is also quite a bit on the Autodesk Website / Revit Help file on creating macros: Automating Tasks with Macros

thanks Chad. Just trying to figure out how to load and run sample macros is making my head hurt this morning. Maybe I need a bloody mary to help me along. I'd probably go with a VB.net type bloody mary

Ok, I like video-tutorials more then reading, specially in the beginning. But I will check that site. =)

doable to "export" Macro to another RVT, or even better to normal API file/folder (i mean standalone API solution i.e. C#, etc)?
