    Cant link models

I have 2 models but I cant link them together. On the insert tab the link revit button is greyed out. When i try link them under manage links it says i have to relinquish elements. I have the files to save as a central file. I have my main file (A) and then I try link in model (B). Should I have them set up differently or what have I done wrong?
    Thank you

Do you have both files open in the instance of Revit you are trying to link them in? Also, what kind of view do you have open? Have you made sure all the available boxes on the SWC dialog are checked and both files are synced?

Hi Pivoarch, yes I seem to have everything done that you have suggested but I still cannot link them. Should both files be saved as a central file?

no need to have a Revit file to be a Central model to be linked into another Revit file. Again, what view are you in while the Link Revit button is greyed out? There are certain views that this is normal, like Drafting views for instance. Go to a plan view. Is the Link Revit button still greyed out?
I'm retired, if you don't like it, go around!
