Cannot select a roof opening cut

I have modeled a tapered insulation roof and made a number of roof openings to trim off the edge of the tapered insulation at the parapets as well as some mechanical curbs. I have made some modifications to my mechanical curb locations and now I need to adjust the roof opening cut and I cannot seem to select it. I isolated the display to just roofs and windowed everything visible and filtered to just roof openings and it does not seem to show anything selected along the edge in question. Also, when I select what appears to be the roof opening cut in section and go to edit sketch, it ends up editing the sketch of a completely different opening. Any suggestions?

I made a number of tests for roofs by footprint, by extrusion, and by face and placed a number of openings using the vertical opening tool. In all instances I can easily select the roof openings. When selecting an opening to be edited, all other openings which were created at the same time as the one selected become editable in sketch mode.

Not much help on your problem, but for me, everything seems to work as expected. Maybe post a screen shot.

    Cheers,

You didn't by chance make the roof using the Roof By Extrusion method did you? If so, you can only modify the opening by selecting the Vertical opening tab after selecting the roof.

Extrusion and by footprint work fine here. You could go to one more step and,
select the entire area, filter to only "roof opening cuts", and then "isolate catagory"
and see what you can find.
I can highly recommend doing this in a 3D view. see image 4

Just ran a little tset as I had a thought about this issue as there have been a couple of other similar posts.
To my supprise openings can be hidden in view, once hidden there is no way you can select it, even to the point that if you select the roof with the opening it will not even show up in the filter.
Mthurnauer i think you will find if you activate "reveal hidden elements" (the little lightbulb next to the sunglasses) then select the opening you are missing, then select "unhide element" you should be in business.
This is a "nasty little piece of work" and could be most frustrating if unknown, I am glad I can add it to the "brainstrust'

Makes you wonder why you would want to hide something that is really not even there, very strange and probably something we could do without.

I think it was a bug

I don't think that I had hidden the opening as I tried to select the opening from many different views, 2-d, 3-d, sections, etc. When it would highlight what seemed like the opening, and I would click to edit sketch, it would end up activating the sketch of a completely different opening. I think the bug may have been related to two openings overlapping. When I opened the model today, I had no problem editing the opening, but yesterday.....much time was wasted.
