    Raised Access Floor and Rooms

We have a project in the early stages. After laying out walls, doors, furniture, rooms, etc, we've been told we need a 6" high raised access floor throughout about half the building. About half of the interior walls will be de-mountable partitions so will need to sit on top of the raised access floor. When I create the raised access floor and move the walls so the bottom constraint is the raised access floor, I lose all of my rooms.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle this before we get too far down the road. Is it better to have the raised access set to its own level or offset off the main floor level? How do I deal with rooms? I would rather not have two different floor plans with the access floor being only 6" above the main floor.

What's the best way to deal with this?

    Thanks.

Just select all the room objects and change the base offset up to where your walls are.

I've done the dual levels for slab and raised floor before and it's a pain to manage.

Edit: You also have to change the computation height within the level properties. Just click the level marker in elevation and you'll see it.

Thanks. It turned out to not be difficult. We did go ahead and create a level for the raised access floor. The original problem was that when I went to move up the bottom of the walls, I would lose the rooms, no matter what. So after creating the raised access floor level, I cut/pasted the rooms and room tags from the main level to the access level, changed the bottom of the walls to the raised access floor level and everything was fine. Then, I opened the main floor plan and saw that the rooms were showing up fine now. Not sure why that is, but...it seemed to work and all is well.

Well, you probably lost them because you moved the bottom of the walls above the plane Revit uses to check for Room Boundaries. And you probably didn't loose them, you got the error message that "multiple rooms are in the same region", hit ok/delete and was left with one room.

But you might want to check if the rooms NOT on the raised level are still reporting fine (check the Room Volume!). Cause I think your volumes are off now since they will by default only go up to the raised sublevel...

I checked. Volumes are reading correctly for the rooms on the raised access floor and those that are on the main floor.

Well, in that case: keep up the good work!
I was thinking you might run into a problem as described here...
