Ifc from Tekla into mep2009 and rst2011

Hello, does anyone have experience with working with tekla ifc models in revit? When I open the model in revit some of the walls are misplaced, but when I open the same model in navisworks, everything is correct. The ifc model is rather complex, and has a file size of approx. 30mb, after running it through solibri ifc optimizer. Before 100 mb. I haven’t tried to open the original ifc file, it takes revit approx. 6 hours to open the optimized file, so I guess it takes even longer to open the original. Can I do anything to correct the ifc model or convert to something else?
I´m new to the company, but the project is a few years old, that why the tekla model is from tekla 14 and the mep model is in mep2009, the Tekla interoperability is only for tekla 16 and up, I guess. Any ideas?

Hi, I'm not really familiar with Tekla, but what I'm sure of is that the problems comes from Revit, futhermore if the model is fine in Navis. First you should update your templates in Revit with the right ifc parameters. you will find material on Autodesk website searching for ifc. next you may have to check import options in Revit (big R, import, ifc options, or smth very similar).
At this time, try again (but 6h loading sounds weird....). Ifc version (2x2, 2x3) may be the issue too.
    good luck.

6 hours is definately too long! It takes time, but not that much... (assuming you're not on a totally worthless pc). I'd go with Juliens approach and do some major export-import settings testing. It's a PITA, but you need to do it.

Hi, my computer is defiantly not worthless, i have been looking at the import settings. But I didn’t think that there were much to do, but I will try looking at it again. I'm also looking into the tekla part, trying to find out if it is possible to export a different version of ifc.
Thanks for the input, if you have other suggestions don’t hesitate to write me.

if you have acces to the native Tekla file, look after an export plugin Tekla >> RST. it may help. http://www.tekla.com/international/s...tructures.aspx
