You need to create a filter, and then include that filter in template views. Then, apply that template view to your views.
For example: you don´t want to see a wall named "Generic 10 inches". Then you go to VG > Filters, and add a new filter called "No generic 10 inches", which you apply to Walls, by Type Name > equals > "Generic 10 inches". Once the filter is created, you can go to View Templates, V/G Overrides, and apply this particular filter, with visibility OFF, to your templates. Then, re-apply templates to views.Freelance BIM Provider at Autodesk Services Marketplace | Linkedin

I'd say this IS the magical easy button... Remember that you can save your filter in your Project Template (which would be handy if you have to use it across multiple projects).Martijn de Riet
