Is anyone very familiar with the concrete reinforcement Revit extension?

    #2
    Hi,
I can't say that I'm very familiar, but I tried every extension, with or without success.
I don't have enough time to get deeper for now, but I would be glad to speak with someone testing features like I did.
Those extensions seems to me "unachieved" or at least partially. And help is not easy to find.
I hope I will work also with ASD extensions, and Robot extensions at the very beginning of 2011.
    See you in 2011.

If your talking about the ones that send your Revit steel models or beams and columns to ASD then yes they do, but it depends on your trying to do and the profiles you have setup.
what are you having issues getting working?

I only use Revit for concrete. I do believe it doesn't stand any chance in front of Tekla, or even ASD steel.

I'm having problems with the one that sends reinforcement or formwork into ASD.
I mean that I've done the model in Revit Structure, but this is useful just for slab formwork. I need to send the beams into ASD for reinforcement, but the Extensions doesn't work.

            I have Win 7 x64.

Well since I have numerous replies I will try with the questions.

Is there any way to give a maximum bar length? I am doing many floors, beams, etc and the they are over 40' so when it places my bars it does 40'+ bars and we have a 40' bar max.

We have been doing the detailing by in Revit (no macro or extensions) so we use the standard bar shapes 00, 17, 17A, S1, etc...is there a way to have the extensions use those shapes rather than using oddly named ones as it does for me right now?

              Thanks,
              Grant

                Hi all,

I did some tests thinking about this post:

                - reinf. extension for beam doesn't work for me, even with the original beam family
                - same thing for in-place beams

                any idea?

Got it, beams works fine now:
the family must have the parameter "Shared" check. So simple.

In-place beam don't have such parameter, so it doesn't work.
