    Sloped Ceiling

    When I draw a ceiling with no slope defined, level 1, 9' offset it's where it should be. However, as soon as I define a slope for one edge, it kicks the ceiling up above the roof line. Undefine the slope, and it's back where it should be.

    Why is this happening??

    Can you post a screen capture of the slope arrow or sketch line´s properties?

      I just figured it out. Either Revit is dumb sometimes, or I just don't get it. :laugh:

      Okay, when you select the sketch line that defines the slope, you can choose an offset above the base. That's where I need to enter 9'-6", and pick level 1.
      It put's it where I expect it.

      If you are either in sketch mode with nothing selected, or you select the ceiling after you create it, you can pick a level and height above level. This does nothing I can see. I've tried all sorts of combinations, and the roof stayed where it is. I'm sure it does something, but I got it to work in sketch mode so I'm on to other things. :laugh:

        Okay, I think I got it now. There is a check box for "displays constant height". That HAS to be checked to define a slope. This also allows you to use the "offset from base" parameter. It's grayed out otherwise.

        Apparantly, this overrides the "height offset from level" instance parameter. So, if you don't have a sloped ceiling, you can use this. If it's sloped, then you have to specify an offset from base.

        Clear as mud.
