I am in the process of upgrading around 12 models all linked with shared coordinates. Am I correct to assume that the shared coordinates file must be updated as well?

I am not clear on what you mean by the "Shared Coordinates File".
Shared Coordinates are data stored in each project file, if the file is upgraded the data is upgraded as well. -
There is no shared coordinates *file*, only whatever file was used to either Acquire Coordinates or determine what coordinates should be entered into Specify Coordinates at Point. Once set Shared Coordinates are *fixed*, or unchanging.
If a separate file (Revit) was created to deal with a survey and acquire coordinates then, yes, it ought to be upgraded too, so it can be used with the other files if necessary.Last edited by Steve_Stafford; February 6, 2015, 07:59 PM.Comment

All models linked into another Revit model (or which contain Links) must be in the same version.Dave Plumb
