Hi Dave,

Im exporting Views/Sheets normal with Export-> CAD Formats -> DWG files. My question is, are there any way to export Revit drawings into my DWT template file. Revit give me only custom options "psltscale, coordinate system, units and colors". How can I change default export CAD template in Revit?

Revit uses acad.dwt for the export template and I don't see a way to change it. Copy/pasting to your DWF template is the only way that I can see to do this

Im not even sure you can do that, honestly. Have you successfully tried it? Which acad.dwt file did you write to? Is there one in the Revit Program Files somewhere? I only ask because Revit is able to export DWG without having AutoCAD installed, so its obviously not dependant on the acad.dwt thats in the AutoCAD Program directory.

I did a search on this local machine, and the only DWT files on it are in appdata for ACA or C3D...

My response to this has always been that its entirely not possible, which is what ive thought was true. But id love to be proven wrong.

if you're speaking to me, I only assumed that the acad.dwt was used because the export resulting .dwg file has matching model and layout tabs. I didn't realize that you didn't have to have Acad installed to export to .dwg. I don't have a machine that has Revit installed that doesn't have Acad installed so I can't try it to see if the template file would be the same. I have tried exporting Revit views with various different template settings in Acad/Options/Template settings without any change to the export file. It would be interesting to find out what source Revit is using for a template for export to .dwg.

I am 100% certain that no setting or file in the AutoCAD directories affects it in any way, thats why i was curious if you had found a way to change it. I have revit on some machines that dont have- and have never had- AutoCAD. There simply ARE no .dwt files anywhere. I know a lot of people (myself included) have asked the Factory about this... More specifically regarding dgn and the workspace templates, or whatever, and i think the answer is that it doesnt use a template at all... But they would have to confirm that.
