    Hello there

    is it possible to export from revit to 3ds format ?? how?

    By the way ,i am new user just trying the version and compare it with features on archicad

    You should be able to export to FBX format, which Max will accept. The few times we have done it, it seems to work pretty well. You just need to prepare a 3D view in Revit, clean it up to show what you need, and then export. You can access the export function from the application menu. Good luck!

      Thanks , but i would prefer this way so i can import the 3ds from any programme like sketchup can i import it from skecthup because some time i like to use it ?

        Well an actual .max format is not available, but if you get it into max via fbx, you can always export it from there as a file sketchup will work with.

          Another road you can take to go from Revit to 3dMax is via .dwg. In Revit, from a 3d view, do: Export > CAD formats > dwg. > Current view > In export options, select Solid > Acis solids. > save as .dwg. In 3dMax, do: Import > dwg, select your file, and voila, your Revit model is ready for "lights, camera, action" in 3dMax.
