    multiple circuit tags

I'm (architect) helping out our electrical guys for a deadline today and I came across something that I can't figure out. Is it possible to have a junction box with multiple connectors connected to multiple circuits and tag all those circuits seperately? It seems like the connections are working ok, but the tags aren't. Any ideas?
    thanks

    I have the same problem.
    Any ideas?

Perhaps the tag can only report one connector per family?

I think the last time I dealt with this we ended up using wire and wire tags. The wire will see the other circuits and then the wire tag will identify the circuit it sees. A tag on the device itself will only see one connector.

We have had some issues which arose when trying to tag sub-main cables. The wire tag reads every circuit on the wire and the wire picks up every circuit connected to the connector.
It is correct that the best way to show a circuit is to use a wire tag however the wire sucks in all circuit names connected to the "up-stream" connector.
My guess is that the best way around this is to add multiple connectors to a family, however this comes with it's own problems.

My reply was based on a family having multiple connectors within it. In that case only one circuit is attached to the wire, not routing other circuits through one connector or the other. Even if you did, then it would make sense that the additional circuits get listed as part of the homerun, wouldn't it?

I tried this and it works but I don't want to show the wires. I thought I could over-ride the wire colours to white to preserve the ccting tag but the arrow & ticks still appear. So close yet so far.

I agree you'd have to tag the wires and then make them "white". Being able to 'hide' or 'not show' a family without affecting the tag's visibility needs to go on the fix-it list, if it isn't there already...

Rather than creating a new problem of seeing tags for things that are not visible (why tag something you can't see) they ought to fix the tagging of multiple circuit devices so using a wire to be able to see the other circuits isn't necessary.

Very true in this case. To answer your question, we show only the tags of mechanical equipment on our power plans to indicate the approximate location of the equipment. There are definitely flaws with our approach, but it seems reasonable to have the option of keeping tags of hidden elements visible.
