    Itemize Every Instance

    Maybe I'm thinking of this wrong, but my schedule is itemizing every instance when the box is unchecked.

    In the attached schedule, how do I have it show only one instance of "covered outdoor porch / living" but add the total area of all 4 of them??

    Have you hidden instance fields (ie. Mark) and a sort applied?

      You need to sort by the name field. They should then condense.

        Yep, and remember to set the Area parameter to "Calculate Totals" in the formatting tab - Otherwise the total Area won´t show when condensed.

          That's what I was missing. I had it sorted by number (hidden column). The problem with sorting by name is I don't want them in alphabetical order.

          So, now the question is how do I sort by number, and still have it condense??

          I could cheat and number all of the outdoor areas with the same number, but I get warnings. Is there another way?

            I think you can just accept the warnings. It will work anyway.
            If you want to avoid the error messages, make the number a type parameter, instead of an instance. For example, use "Type Mark", instead of "Mark".

              Ahhh, yeah, that makes sense. Thanks Alf. I'll try it.

              Well, it won't let me make a type paramter for a schedule. It's set to instance and grayed out. I guess that makes sense since it's a schedule.

                My mistake. Your schedule is a room schedule. I did not consider that in the first place. You're correct, only instance parameters are possible for rooms. No types.

                Apart from sorting by number and setting "Area" to calculate values, as it has been said above, I think you also need a footer below "Number".

                  I did the cheat I mentioned above and numbered all like areas the same, then sorted by name. I got a few warnings, but I can live with that.
