Revit Crashing - After Mirror Command

    Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this and any Revit forum for that matter.

I was just wondering if anyone has had the following happen:

I was designing some apartments and I picked some walls, doors, windows, some furniture, a couple of generic modeled in place elements, and tried copying them to another apartment, and Revit crashed and offered me the option of saving the progress under a new file name. After that the file closed and then all the buttons in Revit were grayed out. I had to close the program and restart. After that I tried just copying everything except the floor and then there was no crash, then I copied the floor and all good.

Does anyone know why it crashed?

I'm running Revit 2011 on Windows 7 Home Premium, 6gb ram, nvidea geforce 330m, intel core 17 processor

Thanks in advance for any help

      Thank you for your reply!

i will try auditing the file

I haven't installed any update, so I will do that first. Maybe it fixed the problem. Thanks once again

If it just crashed once using the mirror command, i wouldnt spend any time dwelling on it. It crashes occasionally. My personal guess is Video Card driver, and or the screen refresh caused the crash when you started the command. Sometimes it just happens. Got HWA turned on?

If it crashes several times trying to do the same thing, then id get worried.

I would try not mirroring so much. Does it crash when just mirroring a wall, door, etc? If it crashes on everything, I would do a fresh install. If it crashes only on a paticular item, delete the item and remodel it. If it only crashes when you mirror many things, don't mirror so many things at a time.

I have a file where there are a few objects that allways crash when mirrored. One is a floor with a variable thickness substrate(Tile of Mortar Bed), and a Trench drain. I can copy the objects into place, then mirror, but if I mirror them from oneside of the building to the other its a crash. I need to send it into support but haven't taken the time to do so yet.

I updated Revit, and audited the file and no errors showed. I have HWA turned off, had graphic issues when it was on. When I tried to mirror again same problem as in the beginning. So I tried copying instead, and it crashed as well. For some reason my Revit dislikes doing all the elements together. When I separate the floors from everything else then it's OK. I'm probably going to try a fresh install at some point next week or so, and try to replicate the problem.
