Pardon me if my lingo is incorrect, but what I think I need some help figuring out is how to nest an annotation with a family that is separate from the tag.
I have created some cased openings, archways, etc as door families so they could be scheduled similarly. What I would like to do is be able to have an identifying line of text (i.e. C.O., Arch, etc) incorporated into the family so that when I place it, that text shows up on the plan.
The company I work for is a small, mostly residential design and build firm - small enough to where I'm the only designer - and I'm self taught at Revit from grad school. Unless it's a commercial job (and sometimes not even then) I do not create your typical door schedule that would typically identify all these things. So instead of having a tag that reads 101, the guys in the field prefer 3'-0" or 2'-8" so that as they are framing they don't have decipher what door goes where, etc. So I'd like to keep my current tag that shows width, but add one that shows if its a CO, Arch, or even call out the door style (4 panel, 6 panel, etc).
This may be a dumb way to do it, and maybe technically the wrong way, so I'm open to all suggestions.
Thanks
