[All Verticals] - Callout view tag with View Name label

    Applies to: - All Verticals

    New Feature / Problem:
A callout view tag will not show a view name. All other view tags do.

Why do you need this Feature / Why is it a Problem:
I'd rather use view names than detail numbers to number my details.

    Workflow:
    add label option

    Benefits:
not having to match the detail number in callout view tags to the view name

I'd like to add a description next to the callout tag (e.g. "ENLARGED RESTROOM PLAN" or "TOP OF WALL ATTACHMENT" or "FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION"). I'm a NOOB and not sure if a callout tag is the correct way to refer to a standard detail not directly linked to model geometry, but if that's a drafting view I'd still like to have a instance based description as part of the callout tag.

I've wanted this for a long time, It's the only way you can make your sheet and view management correct.
After making a plugin that writes the view name to the detail number I've finally found a hack that works:

If you want the viewname to be available as a label start by making a section head annotation.
      create a label for viewname
select the label and use the cut command
change the category of the family to callout head
      then choose paste current view.
It will paste the label for viewname into your callouthead.

now your callouthead will report the viewname

the same hack also works for a few other parameters labels of different categories

good luck and happy revit hacking
