Top of column haunches easy or not?

We are pretty new to revit and i have been given the job of learning and spreading the knowledge around our company. The question i have is how are column haunches created. Do you create a refernce plane between the column and rafter then drawing the haunch section along the plane and then cut it back to the rafter and column using more refernce planes or is there a more straight forward way.

Are these precast columns? because there are already Revit families for those. If they are not, you might look at them to glean some information.
