Why is my linked file is hidden?

I am having issues with visibility setting.
I have 2 revit files. 1. A site file which consists of a linked 3D Acad 2. The main build revit model.
I now linked the site file into the main building file. it's linked but I get this message:

The import geometry will not be visible in the view using current settings.

I checked all other views and no where to be found.
I did go into the VG (in any view) > Revit Links (by Host View), changed to "By linked View" - Now I see it. But only in that view.
I want to see the revit link in all views.

    How do I do this???

    Thank you in Advance.

With the change you described about changing from Host View to Linked View, I would say you have a view level and/or a VG>Model Tab visibility setting set wrong. Make sure everything is checked on, for all disciplines, in VG>Model Tab and VG>Import Tab
Change your View Range to "Unlimited" for Top, Bottom, and Depth.

Everything is checked on. View range is unlimited.
But going through VG is only an override for that particular view. I want the link to show up in all views.

guessing the 3d acad file is linked to a specific view only. either import it into a generic model family and then place the family in the linked file or relink it and uncheck the current view only?

Phasing? Design Options? Worksets set to off? Is all the worksets for your link loaded?

Alex - I checked phasing, design options and worksets.
Flayre - I did what you suggested (Generic model and load). This is a temporary fix, but I want to know why I don't see the CAD that's in the linked Revit file.

            hmm...
