    add columns to architect model

    Hello
I have been given a copy of a the Architects model.
I now have to add structural elements.

What is the best way to proceed.
Should I add the structural elements into the Architects model as it is
    OR
do i make a copy of the model, delete what I do not need, add the steel structure, foundations etc and send my model back to the Architect??

    Also
How do I add a column AFTER the walls are in place, ie my columns will be inside the wall.
    Thanks

    Hello Jallan!

I would suggest looking into some revit structure tutorials. Suffice to say there are many things you will need to do. Do you have any company standards that you would like your drawings to look like? If not, you can go ahead with the out of the box standards, they are ok. In regards to how to use the Arch Model, you should link it into your model Origin-Origin. This is sort of like an external reference in AutoCAD. I could go on and on, I suggest getting the Autodesk Revit book. There are many good video tutorials, there are also certified Autodesk Resellers/Trainers that you should contact...

    anyways, GOOD LUCK!

Once linked in you can type vg and turn on or off the architects elements such as walls, windows in order to gain a clearer view
