APP - Batch Convert Content Utility

Soo.. as promised and sorry for the delay, been quite busy. Give it a whirl, kick its tires, let me know if it helps you at all.

    http://blog.bimkicks.com/post/2011/0...h-Upgrade.aspx

This is a little app I had put together some years back, it was meant to be a front end for the "Content Batch Upgrade Utility Tool" that ships on the REVIT disc.

Since I delayed publishing longer than I should have Autodesk has also stepped up and published an upgrade utility now available from the labs(http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/adn_plugins/).

I would like to highlight a few differences from my app that in my opinion make it stand out :

    * Installation not required (runs from wherever you extract it)
    * Upgrade several file formats (rvt, rfa, rte - the labs version does as well)
    * Quickly select and remove Files and FOLDERs for conversion
    * Ability to inject CUSTOM journal commands to customize actions per file
    * Selection to delete REVIT generated "0001" files
    * Look cool while you're using it .. ;-)

Jose thanks for new toy great.
Being API and Journal illiterate looks like it would be possible to run a journal command to open each family as-
        -Default 3D View
        -Front Left isometric
        -Shaded with Edges
        -Zoom to Fit
        -Save (save options)
(Tick) regenerate if View/Sheet not up to Date

This would give consistency in views in Family Browser and save me ton's of work.

        Question
How do you write the routine, please. :hide:

          -Export view as image....?

glad to be of assistance, ..

mark, klaus, you could fire up the add-in command line utility I wrote (also on my blog and here ) and turn on FULL LOGGING under options, when you perform an action you can view the results, .. copy and paste into this app and go! It really is that simple, that's how I got the zoomfit portion.

feel free to share snippets here if you find some that work for you, I will add them to the "Pre-Sets"
