    Can't edit profile on wall

    (Using Revit 2010/Win7)
For some reason, I cannot edit the profile on this particular wall in the project (the button is grayed out). It is a big wall with lots of profile edits already on it and tons of wall hosted components along it. The workset is editable and I've already tried 'make elements editable'. I do not want to 'reset profile' and start over with this wall because it is to close the deadline and there would be tons of cleanup to get it back to 'normal'. If I can't figure this out, I'm going to detail it using lines and regions, but of course I would rather not do that.

The wall has 4 warnings on it that indicate 'highlighted walls overlap'. It is not 'attached' to anything. Edit profile seems to be the only thing that isn't working for this wall.
What's going on here? Any ideas?

hi, maybe you should post your file here. we'll try and let you know. if the project is a huge one, make a group from this wall, link it to a new file and post it.

First thing to do is find out what those warning are about. Has the wall been copied onto itself? Are there walls embeded in the original wall?Warning cause all types of problems in projects and fixing them generally resolves other wierd issues.

Duh! It turns out it was PINNED! Since it was a big wall and I was only seeing pieces of it, I never saw the pin until I was in a plan view, where it showed the entire wall. Sorry for the disturbance. Carry on.

I'm having this same problem if anyone has found another solution? wall is not pinned but is a curved CMU "basic wall". the edit profile button is grayed out. i'm needing to insert "cut outs" for fire proofing systems and plumbing going into the wall but for some reason on the curved walls i'm not able to? any ideas?

You can use Wall Opening tool (architecture tab -> opening panel). If you need a shape other than rectangular, use in-place void or face/wall based void family to cut the wall.

Yea, I just decided to go ahead and do cuts in the wall with a "wall opening" they can adjust in the field for different systems going in the wall. Thanks for the quick reply guys! (now I know)
