    Crop Region in Elevations

    Just checking to see if there is a better way.

    My buildings have a basement. When I do my architectural elevations, I don't show the basement since........well..........it's underground and you don't see it.

    Right now I've been using the crop view in my elevation, then just stretching the region so it's at my finished floor. This is just eye-balling it, though. I can't align a crop region. Is there a better way to do this, or am I forced to just eye ball it and move on?

    You could create a Scope Box and assign that to your elevation views, and the "crop region" will be defined by the Scope Box.

      That would have worked perfectly, except my brick ledge is 1.5" below my finished floor. So, it's missing 1.5" of brick. :laugh:
      Dragging it down manually is the same thing I'm doing now with the crop region. Oh well.

        With the Scope Box at least you´ll only need to eyeball it once... and not once per elevation view :beer:

          AHHHHH, never thought of that!!! I only did one view, then scratched the idea. Well, in that case, it is worth it. Thank you sir. A little REP for you. :thumbsup:

            Is this gonna work with grade having different elevations?
            I'm using masking region (with invisible lines) to hide everything below grade. I'm not sure if this is a right way to do, but it works for me.

              I think it will only work on a flat plane because you have to associate it with a datum of some sort. Like a level or a grid.

              I could be wrong, though. I just found out about them in this thread! :laugh:

                Nope, Scope Boxes only work for box shapes...

                Off topic: PijPiwo? Is that "DrinkBeer" - After a couple of trips to Prague I remember a few words in Czech: "jedno piwo", "dve piva" and "pet piv" (1 beer, 2 beers and 5 beers)

                  Got allergic to masking and filled regions in my current practice for doing exactly that and more.
                  It is very CAD workflow.
                  Scope boxes is the way to go.

                    I must have missed something. I created the scope box in plan. Went to an elevation view. Picked my level and associated the scope box to it.

                    But how do I get it to crop at the scope box? I see the box, it's sitting on the level, but I see everthing outside of it still.
