retrieve the slab thickness via a parameter ?

    Hi,

Is it possible to retrieve the slab thickness via a parameter to then schedule it?

    Thanks,
    J

Not to my knowledge. The profile cannot be set up using SP's and I don't see any parameter nesting possibilities in the Project.

There is no direct "Thickness" parameter for floors. There are at least 2 alternatives:

      1) Create a project parameter (type, length) that applies to floors. Name it as "Thickness". Select your floor, and, in Edit Type > Properties dialog, enter the value for the thickness of that type of floor. Then, include this parameter in your schedules. Just keep in mind that this value was entered manually. It won't update by itself if you change the thickness of the slab.

      2) "Thickness" is not an available field in the Floors schedule. But "Volume" and "Area" are available. If, only if, the geometry of your floor is simple and of constant thickness, you could create a calculated value (length) named as "Thickness" and make it equal to = Volume / Area.

But the volume/area thing won't work with a slab. If the slab is counted at all, it will be leveled out across the entire floor surface...

EDIT: Never mind, I keep forgetting that a slab is a structural floor and a Slab Edge is the thick part... Yes, this would work.

I use type comment (changes when type changes). you may also try Parts for the floors, you got the thickness if I remember well.
