    black material during realistic view

the title says it all. whenever i turn the realistic visual style on, one of the gray material turns solid black. what could be the possible reason for this? is this a sign of video card incompatibility? also if turn the HWA off, this doesnt happen.

    i'm running revit on:
    windows 7 x64
    intel core i5 2400
    8gb ram
    geforce gts 450

Have you tried another video driver (older/newer)?

And out of curiosity, is the "gray material" using a custom image/map for rendering appearance? And have you specified the path to custom maps in Render Settings?

hi Munkholm! thanks for the fast reply, yes regarding my previous post, rolling back the driver seems to resolve that issue. but i'm still worried that i'm still experiencing some odd behaviors.

to answer your curious question, no it is not a custom map.

I had someone ask me this unsolvable question about a year ago. They recently told me that they reinstalled their material library and the problem went away.
