One thing is certain...the admins and moderators absolutely make you "feel" welcome here.
Following my FIRST post, Munkholm sent me a friend invite - I thought that was very kind and accepted not realizing at the time that he's the top dog here. I figure he's one very busy fellow and taking the time not only read my post but to reply personally - well, I just thought that was "exceptional".

I'm Defiant1...and I've been in the precast industry FOREVER. I helped the Romans build the aquaducts.
Seriously, I've been in it for 36 years now. I started in the trenches building forms and grew from there.
I'm now blessed to work for one of the largest producers on the east coast - and the real blessing is that I work from home. Aside from winning the lottery, I couldn't BE more fortunate.

Used ACAD since '95, we went to Revit in '07 and I hated it. But that was then.
I love it now, recognize it can only get better, and I want to know everything about it - which is why I'm here!
I've posted a few questions and have always gotten the quick replies. I visit daily and always pick up tips from the postings. Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Don't hesitate to send the friend request...I like the whole "inner circle" concept!
hey! a young guy You're about 5 years behind me (started in '69 in my industry, and started Acad in '91). I'm a curtain wall and ACM panel detailer. The panel detailing is very similar to precast detailing I think except our elevations are from the exterior

welcome to the forum, great place to hang out!
I'm retired, if you don't like it, go around!

Oh! A curtainwall guy...I'll have to remember that because I struggle with them (when I have to deal with 'em). And there's no one -and I do mean no one to go to with questions.
Everyone in our office has minimal, VERY MINIMAL undertanding of curtainwall systems.
      It's like flyng blind.

I have no problem if/when we get window shop drawings, but that's not very often.
Most of the time we're dealing with the arch's details...and they're generally as vague as they can be.

Welcome to the forum Marcello. I must say, your name rang a vague and distant bell, but just now I read Munkholms post and I remember: you're my Revit modelling hero! Absolutely love the Elephant. I always carry it around when I have to implement Revit in a new corporation. There's always some guy complaining about the limitations of Revit. I just show your family in response and tell him/her that the only limitation is their own imagination... Works like a charm!!

Thank you for the warm welcome dradvies. I never posted on forums before. It is good to see an active Revit forum community out there.

                    FYI
Your story above is interesting and thanks for sharing.
As for the elephant... I had no idea it would generate so much interest...perhaps because its also parametric...or perhaps because its one sweep from the leg thru the ears and to the end of the trunk.
Perhaps this is not the location to discuss such things....

If there is interest families, perhaps you or one of the other administrators should open a new post under the mass modeling catagory titled "your most interesting families" so that for other people could show some of their creative and interesting families and answer questions about them.
I have images of other familes I created. Let me know if you want me to share them to help get the other thread started.

I stumbled upon this forum tonight looking for answers. I have 15 years of Acad experience as an electrical designer. Last month I was pushed into using Revit MEP for our latest project. I am very confused to say the least. I am hopeng to get alot of my questions answered on the forums.
