linked files and their levels in a schedule

Hey, I am trying to set up a schedule that can accurately tell me the level of objects from linked files.
It seems the level in the schedule is based on the level in the linked file. I want to use the level it is placed in the final model, especially if the linked files are at varied heights throughout the project.

Is there a way to make revit understand the level of a linked file the way they appear in the final model?

    Are you working in 2013?
I know it's the way it always behaved(Revit sees the GUI and not the Level Name) so we had an app to work it out. But last week i noticed that it seemed to work using 2014 latest update... maybe im wrong but can anyone confirm?
BTW we still need the app because we can't use the Level Name to filter

        It's an internal development.

Are you using the latest update on R14?

it didn't seem to work, if its in a link the level of the family is reported by the level at which it exists in a link, not the level it exists in the model
