    Foundation wall with stem/curb

I'm working on a house that has a suspended garage floor. This requires a 12" foundation wall with a 4" notch for the pre-cast panels to bear on and an 8" curb/stem extending higher for the framed wall and brick to bear on. How would you model this, and what are the pros and cons? Thanks.

Could you post a sketch? There are a couple things that come to mind but I'm not well versed in the methods you are using since 99% of what we do is a turndown slab.

A sketch would help to provide answers just saying...

The notch could be a fanily or an inplace void. The curb is just a slab edge

I would use a recess in the wall family for the ledge. The structural panel as a floor and the concrete topping as a floor. For the turn-up on the topping use a slab-edge. I attached a quick mockup, started from the Architectural template with profiles that I already had for other uses and adjusted to fit (that's my disclaimer for the shoddy modeling :hide
