    Suggestions

If you have any suggestions for simple but timesaving addons for Revit, please state them in this thread. Please do remember that this is going to be a freeware Addon, based on a lot of voluntary time spent. So it might just be possible that your request is not within our current state of expertise / willingness to spend time on.

Other than that: we're here to serve so please put in your suggestions...

    Batch Render

Not even sure who wrote the original, but it would be very cool to have the Batch Renderer included, and preferably made a little more user friendly (without the need to modify journal files, and with a Revit UI)

Edit: After re-reading the linked blog post, it´s pretty clear that Zach Kron wrote the original version... And that it was not possible to do with the API at the time... I know a lot of things have been approved in the API over the last few years, but have no idea if this will be possible in 2012 ??

      Structural Rebar - Renumber

I have been trying to reverse engineer the Door/Room Renumber addon to allow me to use it for Structural Rebar.

Here is the process I think the code would need to run through.
User Selects all bars of a particular type in our master schedule (Bent, Dowel,Form Saver, etc)
The code runs through each bar instance and checks its dimensional parameters against the other bars in the schedule
If it comes across a bar that is identical to another give it the lowest bar mark if they both have a bar mark
If it comes across a bar identical to another match existing bar mark (if one bar has no mark
If it can not find a match to an existing bar/mark assign a new bar mark to it by taking the highest bar mark and adding 1

This should run through all bars selected assigning each a new bar mark or matching bar marks to the lowest number if already existing.

I've just been asked how you query glazing area vs room floor area for a BREEAM calculation in Revit.

I said I'd seen it done in a blog talking about the API, but as it stood, it wasn't an OOTB feature and that I couldn't help them further short of "you got to do it manually".

That'd be a nice one to have.

My suggestion is to have customizables Tags for consistent annonation of the models/drawnings.

            1. RFO Universal Tag

With this tag the user should be able to tag any calculated value from any schedules

            2. RFO Super Tag

With this tag the user should be able to tag any calculated value from any schedules and also mix them up with the build in tagable values. So there will be a tag editor where you can chose nearly every value from the database and make your custom tags crossover to categories and self calculated values.

This have been up before, but here goes:

Be able to have the "Scale" from sheets appear in the Sheet List.

Already looking foreword to testing the first release of the RFO addins.

I think you mean View List...sheets have no scale associated with them. Adding to the View List however, being able to schedule the detail number as well would be really nice...

I think Kim in fact means the Sheet list... the scales in the Sheet properties are off course inherited from the views placed on the sheets, but they are there non the less... just not available in the Sheet List´s

Should read "As Indicated" when different view scales are on the same sheet (just like the titleblocks)

Or even better yet, let us fill in a replacement text for "As Indicated" (Not all Danes understand that...)

Had not seen that, thanks. I rarely have a sheet that all views are consistent scales and I don't give the sheet a scale so was not expecting that...
