Elevation Tags not updating View Number

Please just for general test outthere... In RAC 2012 I seem to have failiures in different RTE files. The Elevation View Tag is missing update on renaming of the View Number on Sheets. First open a Plan View (Ex.01). Create a new Sheet. Place an elevation on the Sheet. Notice the Elevatiopn Tag on the open Plan View showing the View Number correctly. Now renumber the View Number for the elevation on the Sheet. The View Number is not updating on the open Plan View, but all other Plan Views opened from now on is updated.

    Anyone experiencing the same thing?

Yep. Went thru this to test it out and got the same results. Error! Error! This isn't going to work AutoDESK.

Just for laughs I ran thru this exercise with everything I could think view-wise, and it seems to be just the elevation tags that are affected by this.

I can also confirm this behavior. Another good reason to not use RAC 2012 aside from the deployment creation debacle. Why are they breaking things that used to work? :banghead:
Putting another support request in the pokey.

If you switch the tag from the standard square tags to any other tag, the elevation tags updates to the right view numbers. But no matter which tag you have loaded, if you insert a new elevation with tag, it will not update until you swap the tag types around again. Even if you switch back to the standard square tags. Strange.

Here is the support request I have just placed - Case 05893481. See the red below for another workaround.
After placing an Elevation view on a sheet, I change the view number, but if any
plan view(s) is (are) open that is showing the elevation tags, that elevation tag will not update the view number unless the tag is swapped for another type, and then swapped back again. If any other plan views are opened AFTER the view is re-numbered, they show the correct view number.
If there is NO plan views open when the view number is changed, then when any plan view is opened, the view number is shown correctly.
Have just found another workaround to get the number to show correctly: select the elevation tag, hide the tag in the view using either "element hide" or hide by category, then unhide, and the tag is magically correct.

Has anyone tried to save/swc or close the plan and re-open the plan?

Yes, does not help. Only related thing to do is reopen the project.

This sounds like the same behaviour of sheet reference numbers not updating and needing their referring view's crop region tweaked to "force" a "refresh" - no?

The more I read, the less of a rush I am in to install 2012 at this rate.
