    Gen Anno with Arrow Leaders

I am having a hard time figuring out what is controling the insertion point of the arrow on the weld symbol. I am editing the weld symbol that Aaron posted a while back and I have to have the arrow origionate from the center of the circle(all around symbol).

I am sure this is something simple I am over looking.

    Thanks

The leader will centre on the bounding box of elements in the family, in this case there have been some invisible detail lines drawn to make the centre consistent

Okay.... I understand that.... what could i do to trick the family so that the leader pulls from an offset position?

How does this family acheive what I am looking for? The leader works correctly in the attachment.

Can you post a markup of where you want the leader to go? I cant visualise, but essentially you just have to extend the invisible line to move the centre of the family, the leader will just centre on the bounding box

Ben, (refer to Alex's first post... in the picture) he needs the leader to come from the CENTER of the circle, not the edge/quadrant. And if the Line could stop at the center of the circle, all would be fixed!

Reread the OP, and it sort of makes sense

The leader just starts from the edge of the bounding box in the X direction, the Y direction starts at the centre which allows us to trick it with invisible lines, no tricks I am aware of for the X direction. It just isnt possible to get the leader to do this

You would have to build the leader into the family to get this functionality

I would just always have a straight section as per the image in the OP anyway which will show what is required?

I can eaisly get the line to stop at the center of the cirlce but Revit still will put the leader starting at the quadrant of the circle. This issue needs attention at the factory IMO. Why cant we define where we want leaders to come from?

I gave up. We will just deal with that crap we get.

Attached my finished family for a weld symbol. Much credit to Aaron for sharing the origional family I modded.
