    Approval & help needed

    Hi guys,

First off: thanks to all that contributed with some great Addons...

    Now, here's the question:
I've found three great apps with code floating around here:
    - Wall Join Allow/Disallow by API, created by Krispy5
    - Mirror parameters, created by Feio
    - Retrieve Filtered Elements by Nelson.

Now, there's probably more to follow but would it be nice to put all of these under an RFO Addon? I know that starting 2012 you can create your own Ribbon Tabs (check out the Room/Window Area Addin), so this would be cool to create (and also a good excercise for us noobs).

But, I don't want to do this without the author's concent. So anyone who posted a sample here on RFO, please respond...

Oh, and also it would be nice if someone could give me some pointers on how to actually make that happen :hide: Cause I'm kind of in the dark on that one...

I Think that is a great idea.

I would be prepaird to add some of our free apps to it as well as add some other small apps that I have floating around in the back of my head

      Cool, thanks!

btw: already found the way to create a ribbon tab (read the manual).

LOL. That sometimes helps. I haven't had a chance to look at that yet as I have been flat out finishing off an API program for a client.

BTW we implemented custom ribbon Tabs in Revit 2010 and 2011 using GuyR's way which worked a treat. I'm sure the 2012 way though will be a little more integrated

No problem to include mine, I'll add my text align and a change text case one as well. Do you want images for the tool buttons?

I too used guy's method to add a custom tab last year, i used the standard method this year.

That would be great. I also PM'd Klaus for a bitmap from the Revitforum logo, so we can make this one big giant commercial
That said, there's also the possibility to include a flyout explanation (like the tooltips you also find in native Revit commands in which I would like to give credit to the actual writer of the code. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Right, exactly like that. Care to share how you did this?

You just assign a "ToolTip" and "LongDescription" to the "ButtonData" object.

Hi Martijn, how are you going with this? Do you need any help? I had a few thoughts about how to achieve this.
