    Parts

    Here is the problem. First I create parts from wall or floor and then multi-category material takeoff. Then I change some layers with the shape handles. Material takeoff correctly shows changed material area. But if I make new division something strange happens. Material takeoff shows 3 areas for one layer of the wall. One area for each division and the total area of the layer. Is this a bug or intended feature?

    That's got to be a bug, because the parts subtotal carries the 31 sm quantity twice, which is incorrect.

        The Factory doesn't "officially" listen here at RFO. Have you submitted a support request? Then the issue will actually get logged and an action item created. Then the Factory will be listening.

          Hmm, a support request? never done that. I read somewhere it goes with my reseller, right?
          and I'm still with the US trial version, I wait for the French release.

          what's the best way to send the request?

            From the Subscription Center > Tech Support > Request Support

            In the SC settings, you can allow for your reseller to see any Requests for Support (Or not).

            Doubt that it matters that you´re currently using the English Trial... :beer:

              Support requests are generally replied to, and on occasion helpful.

              I do wish that there was a bug feedback avenue. I am tired of the sillyfiing attitude of the support staff, when all I am doing is reporting a bug.... "Have you got the 3GB switch turned on", "Your Graphics card isn't supported", etc... After sending the first dozen requests, including system.nfo, build details and journal files, one would hope that these questions stopped coming... Every valid bug you report enhances the next round of the product!

              Back to the question at hand....
              To me it looks like the tool is working as intended. The parts and original exist at the same time and visibility is controlled by "Parts visibility". If you divide a 'part' then the original AND the resulting parts are reported by the schedule. Unfortunately, you cannot set "parts Visibility" to any sub levels generated by subsequent split of parts.

              Try this.
              Build a floor (add comment "0")
              Select Floors and "Create parts" (add comment "1" to all parts)
              Select Part and "Divide Parts" (add comment "2" to all parts)
              you will start to see how this works....

                Error or not,it`s good that just using a simple calculated value (like x/2) gives as the numbers we are looking for
                If all the area and volume bugs had been like this one (I mean, easy solvable).....
