    K,

I thought of the Vasari Nucleus thing--but didn't post it, thinking nah--" No one would ever take that seriously!"
But I guess great minds think alike!

I bet that it could also by done with Vasari and Nucleus.

Should be really easy to get the hill side into Vasari, and then use Nucleus physical phenomena form finding to drape a shape over the hill side (Adjusting gravity to make it a smooth shape)
And with adoptive components hosted on the new draped shape, you could create the Rail... ?

Ok ok, the railing solution is probably easier to most people, just saying that it´s possible

I meant I'd do the RR track in Max, not the parking stripes.

But back "on track"--pun intended--to the OP question--I bet Phil Read could do the RR track with a custom Railing?!!!

Im surprised they didnt show you how to do it with the Feature Line tool, instead of the Parking Lot tool. In the feature, im betting all of their tools will build off that instead. It can do plenty of parking lots on sloped toposurface.

But okay, do it in Max.

Well, railroads, perhaps. But it can't do simple parking lot stalls on a sloped toposurface--just ask them. Had them try to do it live in a webcast the other day--no go. LOL. See my Wishlist post on that topic. I need parking lots and striping with sloped topo on every project.

Railroads? Maybe once in 50 projects? And even then, I'd probably just do it in 3dsMax.

And for 2500 bucks it works great!

    Revit can't do it.

However, Eagle Point Land Cadd has an application called Site Works that can do it, using Massing. You can sweep a profile up a curved/sloping path. Downside is it costs $2500............LOL.

couldn't you just do a split region on the topo surface and give it a pattern of a railroad track?

Can't seem to figure out a way to model a Rail Car Track down the mountain side. Its going to take me hours to move each piece manually to match the drastic change in the topo. I'm using 2011, does anyone know how to attach or drape objects to the topo? I would rather this process not take an entire day of work, and then have to do it again if the track location changes.
