    Speaking of Chit-Chat...

    This was the only thread that had the word "chat" in it so I figured I'd throw this out here. As you can see in my signature I host a free Chat (it's IRC) on my home server. I open it to all who need answers faster than the speed of community.

    Now, I should explain. There are several people there at the moment (mostly from RevitCity.com) and we all hangout in a channel called #TheLounge. Anything goes here. IT IS UNMODERATED.

    However, for those of you at an office. You can type "/join #Revit" and suddenly you are in magical moderated REVIT TALK ONLY land. We all help each other out and it's a fun, easy way to get help fast. If that's a little too complicated the you can just click this link to go straight to the #Revit channel.

    Hope to see some of you there!

          Actually .. it would probably be quicker to post a step by step, its extremely simple, 3 lines of code and a few steps here and there.
          • Create a NEW Application Macro (I use vb.net)
          • I named the Macro "RevitChat"
          • Add a Windows Form to your project (I named it frmRevitChat)
          • Edit the form and place a "WebBrowserControl" on it
          • Double click the form to get to the frmRevitChat_Load event and add the following code:

          Code:
          Private Sub frmRevitChat_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
                  WebBrowser1.Navigate("http://gibsonhh.info:9090/?nick=Revit_Forum_....&channels=Revit")
              End Sub
          Go back to your macro code and add the following code to show the form:

          Code:
          Public Sub RevitChat()
                  Dim myFrm As New frmRevitChat
                  myFrm.Show()

              End Sub
          Run the macro .. thats it, as promised .. THREE Lines of code =)

            This will make several people happy

            I've created a screencast video. I'm sure I muffed something up though because Delete and Shift+#s does not work.

            THANKS AGAIN JOSEGUIA!

              joseguia, would it be possible to make the form NOT open as a separate window, but in the revit window (Just as views that are open) ?

              Anyhow, works a charm

                revittotd - your welcome! (not sure about the keys)

                Schreiber - glad it worked, .. I don't believe there is an easy way to dock a form in REVIT, however not impossible.
