    Positive Negative offset

I want to create a family that has geometry that can be offset from a centerline with a positive or negative value. Essentially, moving an object to the inside or outside of wall based on the centerline. Obviously, it won't let me enter a negative value, so what's the way to do this?

It can be done like shown in the attached illustration and .rfa

You´ll not be able to offset further than the "fixed dim" so be sure to set that value high enough.

Also, you might wanna adjust the formula, to take the size of the offset geometry in consideration.

Actually, as you probably want to adjust for the object size, i might as well provide the formula to do that

Thanks everyone, you all rock. My door family is finally dialed in! Parametric door panels, door frame location within the wall, door width, height, plan swing parameter, frame width and depth. And I believe it's all pretty user friendly.
