I assume you are trying to run the small roof into the large roof. Select the small roof, select the line (the one you want to run into the other roof) uncheck define slope and make it a gable, then join to other roof will work.

Joining Roofs Problem
I'm trying to join two different roofs but it wont let me click any of the slides. I'm hovering over in the 3d mode but there is no sides that i can click to join.
