    Creating floor slab

What is the best way to create this type of floor slab?

You could create the bottom parts as "Slab Edges" or create the floor as an "In-place" by extrusion. (I´d go for the first option...)

Are these thickened parts present over the complete length of the floor slab? If so, I would create the big and small part as a Generic Profile and make Slab Edges of them using a horizontal offset from the side of the floor slab. When made of the same material the join should automatically clean up.

nevermind, already fixed it, the problem was that every edge has 3 different properties that can be loaded. Everythings is allright.

I never realized you could offset slabe "edges" to be anything other than an edge. Or did I read that wrong?

Is that how you guys do interior beams? I created a beam family for my interior beams. Which is a better method?

Yep, you can give them an offset to the side which they are placed on. Place the slab, select it and in the properties palette a horizontal and vertical offset can be filled in.
btw: same goes for all sweeps (wall sweeps, fascias, gutters, etc)

The only way you can do this is make the floor this shape. The Slab Edge follows the Floor Edge.
