    Scale-adjusting Level/Grid Head Families

Although I'm fond of the "fixed sized" annotative qualities of Revit tags and such, and to date have seen no issue in their use, today I was asked if the level heads could be smaller for a 1:200 elevation we're producing.

My response, was, "well yes, but they will get smaller in all views, because it's not a view/scale based object" and then went on to explain how instance/type based visibility parameters we employ for tag types and spot coordinate types, won't work with levels and grids.

    Or is there a way?

I remember running into a similar issue back before Revit was labeled by the year. I ended up using "dummy" grid families to make it work. Not graceful, but it worked for the couple drawings we needed it for.

Can´t think of any great ways of doing it, but you could turn off the grid heads for all grids, and then make a generic family with the different sizes (for each scale used) and place that manually... But IMHO you should you tell the boss/team to accept the way Revit deals with it - It´s just not worth the time and risk of human errors involved...
