    Keynote Legend not populating correctly...

So I've been using keynotes for this entire project, and have the legend filtered by sheet to keep the keynote numbers to a minimum on each sheet. Well...this morning I added a new enlarged detail to my plan sheet...which I annotated before placing on my sheet...but my keynote legend is still empty...(none of the other views have been annotated yet)

If I add keynotes to the view once it's on the sheet, then the legend populates...but not any of the ones I had done previously...I guess I didn't know about this issue - just thought others should know. Seems like a big issue to me...

edit - okay, actually this isn't the case. I deleted all of the keynotes that I had done, and replaced them all. Now there aren't any keynotes populating in the legend. I've tried taking the view off the sheet and putting it back. I've tried taking the keynote legend off the sheet and putting it back...

    I'm at a loss!

edit 2 - so now it seems like it's picking and choosing which views are on the sheet? I've noted 5 views now and it's only scheduling keynotes from one of the details...

If your keynote file is correctly done, and the path is correct, then I would suggest that you post a screen capture of the settings of your keynote legend, especially the filter tab. It seems that there is something more than Filter by sheet in that dialog box. Are you sure you don´t have an extra filter there?

yeah - it's set to filter by (none) and then I checked the "Filter By Sheet" box at the bottom. It's working fine on all my other sheets - or at least I haven't come across any other sheets that aren't working properly. And my project is a little complex - it's being done in 2 phases with 2 different project names and we're getting ready to submit 50% CDs this week for Phase 2. Phase 1 worked wonderfully, with no issues. I'm using the same keynote file (since you can only use one per project) and haven't changed anything on it for Phase 2, just kept dropping it on sheets.

(I think I added those attachments properly)

figured it out - for some reason Revit was showing me the keynotes, but the annotation crop was running through them. If I pull the annotation crop out past the entire note then the list repopulated. Didn't think that Revit would show annotations outside the annotation crop...but apparently I was wrong. very odd.

how do you get an annotation crop on a keynote legend?

I've had a similar problem with disappearing keynotes this morning when i had to print some sheets from another computer (see attached). I thought we were using the same keynote.txt file across the network, well i was wrong After an hour of head scratching and thoughts more explicit than "i'll get back to it". I tried reloading the keynote.txt file, no joy. then created a new legend, no joy. This new legend was blank even though my views were full of keynotes and i had reloaded the correct keynote file.

Lightbulb moment!:bb: It was a relatively easy, if stupidly annoying method to get it right though. I went back to my original keynote legend, then searched each view and deleted all the offending keynotes, then reassigned them exactly the same and everything came back to normal.

I find it annoying that i had to search through all my views for the "offenders", delete and then re-assign them exactly as before.:banghead:

For future reference if anyone knows the proper, or just a quicker way please let me know!

it wasn't the legend that I was having annotation crop issues with it was my drawing views. they were showing notes that were outside the crop and then they weren't populating on the legend.
