    2012 - Parts: small tutorial

    Hi,
I've made a modest document explaining the features of Parts (the ones I could figure out!).
    Hope it helps.

This looks pretty good. You could post this to the wiki as well if you are so inclined. If you are not, I might do it. :-)

I've divided the wall into parts and would like to have the gypsum board split between the 2 floors with a gap at the floor level. I can't seem to find a way to delete the part in the middle. Am I missing something?

Can't delete the part in the middle, but you can hide it.

Thanks Scott. That's what I was thinking would be the answer. Unfortunately that doesn't get rid of that piece of board if your doing a material take off. I suppose I could change that piece to be some other material as well. That's starting to feel like a lot of steps. I guess I have to weight that with just adding gypsum bd as separate walls at each level and joining them with the continuous wall behind.

Or make an instance project parameter in the parts category and fill it on the fly when select that part with a non value before you hide the thing. Than adapt your schedule. Or move it on another nonscheduled phase.
