Can you enclose text with a circle like in Autocad?

I need to annotate a drawing by adding numbers 1-5 then enclosing them with a circle. Can I do this?

Only if you create a Generic Annotation family and put the circle in the family. Other wise it's just text with a separate detail line circle around it.

You might also investigate Note Blocks, Tags and Keynoting.

I was a$$uming the OP just wanted text, but you are right off course. Text and Keynotes can be fitted with a circle too.

IMHO you should always do it as a family. What do you need it for? As martijn and cliff intimated, you can leverage some intelligence from Revit if you use generic annotation or tags. I make it my mission to avoid text.

Cliff - I understand how the Tags and Keynoting approach would work but I'm not sure how you would get a Note Block with circles. Would you provide a short description of that?

Doing this through a Note Block means making Generic Annotations, like Martijn said earlier.

                I've made a quick example:

I understand the NB will pull the information from the GA but the NB itself wouldn't create the text enclosed with circles.

The Note Block itself is really just a "schedule" so it will not have the number with a circle graphic. It would be a table with the number and associated note. The generic annotation family placed in the view would be the number and the circle.
