    Imported Objects

I don't remember importing anything (apparantly I did).
Under settings>manage objects>import tab I have all this junk. It says imports from families. Is this normal?
    Should I delete them?

Is this junk leftover in your template?

Imported objects can be removed in a Purge in Revit 2012. (side note: so can unused materials)

They wont come out with a purge unless they arent used.

What they are, Dan, is Object Styles from a Family that had or has CAD Imported at some point. Either a family had DWG imported to trace over, or has a sat file (less likely) or a DWF file (more likely) in it for the symbol or model. In Object Styles you can select the layers and delete them, and it will force the objects back to the parent "Imports in Families" category. FYI though: Hitting Edit Family, opening the family, and reloading it, will push them all back in...

When I was purging those misc. types from my template I found them all in my firm's custom titleblocks.

Makes sense, as its generally the first thing we bring over from CAD when were starting out in Revit.

Geeze, now I have to remember when I inserted a CAD drawing.

So why don't they disappear when the cad file is deleted or unlinked? Or do they?

Well, I just checked my TB, and there's no extra layers in there.

Is there no way to find out which family it came from? Heck, now that I think about it I may have inserted a floor plan to trace over. I can't remember.

NM, I just deleted them all. It doens't seem to have affected anything. Only time will tell. lol

Imports in FAMILIES are not Imports in the project. They were imported in to a family at some point. Deleting them wont hurt anything, nor will it delete anything. It will just force those lines (if any) back to the Parent "Import in Family" category.
